Buckingham is a small, quality, bed and breakfast and self-catering establishment which opened in 2007 in the pretty, conveniently-located Johannesburg district of Craighall Park. Situated between 10 and 15 minutes’ drive from most of Johannesburg’s key nodal points, such as Sandton, Rosebank, Hyde Park and the old Edwardian city centre, we specialise in dependable, quality accommodation at an affordable price. Owner-run by writer, journalist and tourist guide Sally Roper,Buckingham offers two distinct accommodation options, which are:

1. Two traditional en suite B+B guestrooms inside the main house (Rooms I and 2)

and

1. Two executive standard self-catering cottages (Studios 1 and 2) which are accessed from the garden via private entrances (please note, we are building new self-catering units early in 2012)

Each of our rooms and suites may be clearly viewed here on the website.  All bathrooms have a standard coordinated, modern style emphasising clean, simple lines, and the room décor is a combination of current contemporary urban hip mixed with antiques acquired on Sally’s travels around the world. Most of the suites and rooms offer full bathrooms (bath and separate shower stall), with the exception of our wheelchair-friendly accommodation which features a purpose-built ‘wet room’ with extra wide doors for comfortable access.
